چکیده

Aim: This study aimed to investigate whether non-ionizing radiation emitted by smartphones is likely cause genotoxic effects on oral epithelial cells. Methods: Thirty adults were distributed into two groups according the mobile phone brand used, namely Samsung (Samsung, Seoul, South Korea) and Apple (Apple, California, USA). The material was collected with gentle swabbing of right left buccal mucosa using a cervical brush, then micronucleus test performed. Results: Mann-Whitney 5% significance level did not reveal statistically significant differences in micronuclei frequency between exposed non-exposed sides (p=0.251). different brands do seem risks inducing genetic damage because there no them (p=0.47). Conclusion: Therefore, our results suggest correlations cells users at exposure standard levels observed.

Vitamin D3 Reduction in Individuals Exposed to Sulfur Mustard

Background: Inflammatory responses in individuals exposed to sulfur mustard occur in some organs such as lung, skin and eyes. These organs manifest overreaction in cellular and humoral immune responses. Over a long period, the immune responses often continues toward chronic inflammatory processes with some interventions. Obviously some elements have been deregulated. Therefore, this study evalu...

The gene expression level of p53 and p21 in mouse brain exposed to radiofrequency field

Background:  Widespread and growing sources of electromagnetic radiation raised concerns attributed to the potential adverse health risk of radiofrequency fields. Given the functional importance of the hippocampus, this study aimed to investigate the effects of electromagnetic waves radiated by mobile jammer on hippocampal expression of p21 and p53 genes as regulators of cellular apoptosis...

IFN-gamma production by Th1 cells generated from naive CD4+ T cells exposed to norepinephrine.

During activation in vivo, naive CD4(+) T cells are exposed to various endogenous ligands, such as cytokines and the neurotransmitter norepinephrine (NE). To determine whether NE affects naive T cell differentiation, we used naive CD4(+) T cells sort-purified from either BALB/c or DO11.10 TCR-transgenic mouse spleens and activated these cells with either anti-CD3/anti-CD28 mAbs or APC and OVA(3...
